Living at Green Pastures

Above all we want our residents to feel at home here. One of the main things our residents really enjoy is being able to take each day as it comes, at their own pace with no pressure. Just as they would in their own home.

The atmosphere is caring, warm and friendly. We are happy that our residents feel that they are free to do as much or as little as they want. We encourage visits from family and friends at any time and for however long they wish to stay.

Our residents are encouraged to bring as many pictures and photo’s as they wish, to personalise their rooms.

Our staff work hard to get to know each resident’s personal preferences.

We are all different in what we like to do, how we like things done, when we get up and when we go to bed.

As far as possible we try to meet and fulfil our resident’s wishes.

In the large lounge our Activities Co-ordinators provide a varied programme of events for residents.

There are regular visits from the Cinema and the Music and Movement Man.  Entertainers come in to perform and it’s any excuse for a party!

There are craft times, bingo, games and reminiscence times, all appropriate to our residents and their capabilities.

Residents can choose to join in, sit and watch or find a comfy chair elsewhere.

Every Wednesday we have a Worship Service, led by ministers and lay members from a variety of local churches.

Twice a month there is a communion service.  Residents are free to join in or not, as they wish.

Our Chaplain visits regularly and is available to talk if required.

All food is cooked on site and follows a four week menu cycle of traditional British fare.

A continental style breakfast is followed by the two course meal at lunchtime, with a choice of main course.
In the evening there is always soup, a hot dish, sandwiches, cakes and desserts.

Apart from the main meals the tea trolley circulates several times a day, a cup of tea or coffee is always welcome!

Soft, moist or pureed meals are provided for those who have chewing or swallowing difficulties and diabetic options are available if appropriate.
