Whilst we have a modern building in a very pleasant setting, we like to think that it is the staff that makes Green Pastures.
We have a strong team of fully qualified Registered General Nurses, assisted by fully trained Care Assistants.
The team of nurses is competent in all appropriate areas of care including palliative care, PEG feeds, incontinence, wounds, dressings, tissue viability to name but a few.
They are supported by a team of care assistants who are trained not only to provide all aspects of personal care with safety and dignity, but also to spot the signs of potential problems and inform the nurse immediately.
The Care Team is led by our Nurse Manager, Anna Lammyman.
She is supported by the Senior Nurse, Ann French.
Our Senior Nurse arranges a programme of seminars each term to help develop the knowledge and skills of all our care staff. The mandatory sessions on moving and handling, fire and food hygiene are supplemented by Alert to Abuse courses and training by a range of specialist health professionals. We find that the more we invest in our staff the greater pride they take in their work. Several of our staff, both nurses and care assistants have completed palliative care courses at the local hospice.
We have a Registered Nurse on duty at all times.
Our Nursing Staff maintain strong working relationships with other Health Professionals to ensure that each resident receives the most appropriate specialist care.
Our Nurses are constantly updating their professional skills through a range of external courses and each of them has a particular speciality within the team.
Our Care Assistants receive a thorough induction and regular on going training to develop and update their knowledge and skills.
Green Pastures is a participant in the Liverpool Care Pathway; a scheme which seeks to provide the highest quality of care for those in the last days of their lives.
It is a comprehensive scheme working in co-operation with GP’s and other health professionals to enable them to anticipate and be prepared for every possible physical, emotional and spiritual need of the resident and their families.
