Fees
Green Pastures is run on a ‘not for profit’ basis and each year the Board of Directors set a fee which we believe will enable us to maintain a good quality of care and break even financially. As the largest area of expenditure by far is the cost of staffing, any reduction in the fee would immediately impact the quality of care provided. Prudent management over the years has ensured that the home is well maintained and that equipment is both modern and fit for purpose.
Funding
Green Pastures accepts residents who are privately funded or who are funded by the state. However as state funding is so poor at present there is a need for third party top up for state funded residents. The Shepherd’s Purse bursary fund is available to those for whom a third party top up is not possible. There are criteria to be met to qualify for this Shepherds Purse assistance. Please discuss any funding issues with John, the Home Manager, who will advise you.

CareAware is a non profit making public information and advisory service specialising in elderly care funding advice in the UK. This is an excellent source of information regarding funding and further details can be found here.
CQC inspect and report on care services and councils. They are an independent organisation but have been set up by Government to improve social care and stamp out bad practice. They carry out regular unannounced inspections and this is an excellent source of a truly independent evaluation of our services.
